Muktinath Temple is located in the laps of Thorong-La mountain pass in Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Mustang District of Nepal at an altitude of 3710 meters above sea level. The word Muktinath (sanskrit name) is derived from “Mukti” and “Nath” which means “Salvation or Nirvana” and “God or Master” respectively. According to Hinduism, it is believed that the lord god Vishnu got salvation from the curse of Brinda — wife of Jalandhar in this place. Therefore, this temple holds the great significance for all the spiritual people in the south Asian sub-continent. This holy shrine is counted as one of the 51 Sakti Peetams and 105th Divya Desam among available 108.

Muktinath is also known for its natural hot springs. The juxtaposition of the steam rising from the warm waters against the cool mountain air creates a mystical and inviting ambiance. The temple itself is a harmonious blend of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. The colorful flags, prayer wheels, and intricately designed buildings add to the visual appeal of the area. The temple is a popular spot to witness both sunrise and sunset against the mountainous backdrop. The changing hues of the sky coupled with the mountains' silhouette create a magical experience. In essence, the beautiful view at Muktinath Temple encompasses not only the natural grandeur of the Himalayas but also the spiritual and cultural significance of the site. It's a place where visitors can find solace, experience wonder, and connect with the divine amidst nature's splendor.
